    F model VDO Quartz clock?

My recent VDO Quartz clock purchase has F model face with silver dot, dated 5/73. I thought all F model cars had analog clocks with the Quartz movement not used until the G model. Is this a very good Quartz conversion or was the Quartz movement used in late 73, F model cars. Rob

My July Build 73E has a quartz one as well - I understand (from the list of running changes in the MY in the RS book) that the change to quartz movement for the clock came on March 30 1973. However there may be a bit of slippage around that as old stock was used up

    Lightbulb

My April '73 did not have a quartz movement...

It got to the point where it was louder then the engine....

North Hollywood put a quartz movement in it over 20 years ago, it's quiet and keeps perfect time...

The RS bible says the change was March 30th ... My car was built April 18th … I would guess a few non-quartz were still in the bin....

We left over Lockdown for 3 months and got back yesterday. Was certain the batteries would be flat as I forgot to put the charger on.
    How wrong I was.
I could hear the analog clock ticking away the moment i opened the garage door.
Admittedly I do leave my car windows down.
The 72 clock keeps shocking time so I in for an upgrade so any pointers as to who to contact to get it upgraded would be great.
My daughter is in Hollywood Hills so are North Hollywood you mention Chuck still in operation or are they called North Hollywood Seedometer ?

    Mark,

I reckon you're speaking of the R&R (remove and replace) of the clock..... Yes 'plug and play'
