Robert I found it here: https://www.early911sregistry.org/fo...l=1#post781742

It looks to me that it's from the 1965 drivers manual.

Contact Jim Newton at Auto Associates in Canton, Ct. He bought my last (maybe the last on the planet) NOS 901 Heat Exchangers. He was thinking of reproducing them. They were recalled by Porsche in late 65 or sometime in early 66 and replaced with the heat exchanger that we are all familiar with.

    Regards

I think Vojtech is referring to a muffler. In Europe we call a muffler an exhaust or silencer.

The much-improved 67 version was developed for the S engine, and had equal length pipes for improved exhaust scavenging.

When the 67S system was tried on the standard 901/05 engine, it increased the power by 10 PS.
This brought it too close to the S power output, so restrictor rings were installed for the standard engines to reduce the effect!
The restrictors were removed on the 901/06 exhaust systems.

Stephen, they were welded into the muffler flanges of the exhaust manifolds.

On this 912 muffler you can see it better than on that rusty one
