Final Questions before Paint 1971 S Gemini Blue

So I spent a few hours with the paint shop yesterday going over all of the nuances of painting my car - Gemini Blue.

Wanted to reconfirm a few items...

The inside of the car was fully painted with Body color - Roof, Floors etc....Then Black areas applied?
Door Hinge Pin not painted ?
Any sections externally that had NO Body color applied ? Was it just the underbody that was not painted Body color? Just finished with beige undercoat?

Gemini Blue has so many variations...but this is what we chose ...Thanks !

Inside the roof was not painted. But would get rusty... So a good idea to paint up in there.
Only the door hinge pin had no paint.
    All hinges and bolts painted.

    Yes later, black things out.

I think the grey/beige undercoat was before the paint color.
As there is a little color overspray under the car.
And definitely color over the rubberized texture on/in the wheel arches.

I will only add the hinge pins were not painted because they WEREN'T installed. The doors were not on the car, but on a frame work with the car as best I can see from factory movies.

Put little adhesive Avery dots over the door hinge pin holes.
But only on the ones that face each other.
The top part of hinge. That you see. Get paint on there, but keep paint out of the hole

Two things. So pins will fit.
And hinge edges will slide past each other during door install.

Put a few bolts in some of the threads on rear lid and hood.

The stoneguard on the underbody had some overspray on it but a spray gun was never pointed up to spray this area .

Very smart move to have spray-outs done, rather than just selecting from color chips. Now you really know what the paint you have selected will actually look like. Good luck, and enjoy the process.

    Simon.
I just happen too have a 1971 piece of metal with factory birth Gemini blue paint on it.
It was under the bumper. So protected from sun. Etc.
Do you want me to cut off 10" and mail it to you?

You have selected a formula from fresh spray-out samples with toners available today. Now are you going to ask your painter to color-match and mix from a piece of metal that has aged for 29 years (albeit not exposed to direct sun)?
