Thread: Rear brake pads for 1967 911S

Rear brake pads for 1967 911S

I am changing brake pads on my 67S and wanting Porterfield R4S compound. The Porterfield site lists pads for the "M" rear caliper but I think I need "L" caliper pads.

Is there a cross-over application for another car that Porterfield may offer that fits the "L" rear caliper on my car?

I found out what I needed to know so topic is closed for me.

The Porterfield site was a little confusing but I finally achieved clarity.

My car has early alloy front brakes so there is that.

I measured my rear pads to be sure the dimensions matched those on the Porterfield site and I was comfortable with the application info for the front pads.

So, for my 67S with alloy front calipers I purchased Porterfield R4S compound with AP-45T for the front and AP-30 for the rear. Now, I get to re-proportion my brake balance. Stock 67911S would normally use AP-31 for the front pads, I think.

These pads will replace the Ferodo "M" pads which are ancient and rather cold natured.
