SWB suspension question: Front Strut Buffer

    Hello,

Gathering parts and getting ready to FINALLY put my suspension back on my car. Car has been on a dolly for almost 2 years since it was restored and painted.

    My question is:

Car is a 1967 SWB, it has BOGE front strut housings. I purchased Bilstein front strut inserts, however they did not come with front strut buffers and when I was getting ready to order some strut buffers, I noticed on the stoddard page it says not needed for Bilstein. My guess is that they mean if you have factory Bilstein, but I am not sure and was just wondering if anyone here added Bilstein inserts to a SWB that had BOGE and if so, did you need strut buffers?

    THANKS

At least on 65/66, the bump stop buffers are internal to the Bilstein inserts for the Boge housings so you don’t need them. This should be in the installation instructions for the Bilstein inserts.
