    1968 911 door pocket reattachment

The front screw that holds my driver's side door pocket to the door panel has come out and won't stay screwed in, I'm guessing the screw hole in the door is threaded. Will I put myself into a pickle if I remove the door panel, attach either a washer and nut or some sort of backing plate for the screw to go into, and then putting everything back together? I've never removed the door panel. Picture of what I'm talking about herein. Thanks!Name: IMG_20200711_144352.jpg

1968 may be different that the 69-73 arrangement that uses (4) sets of 2 captive nuts along the bottom of the door to hold the front and rear pockets in place. The nuts are held in place by a little cage which is spot welded to the door. This design is used because there is no way to have the door panel, and then pockets in place and reach in behind to use a traditional screw and washer. I would recommend taking the panel off to understand how that screw originally secured...if hogged out, you could install a nutsert which gives you a new threaded piece to screw in to. Hopefully others are more familiar with the 68 arrangement...still think you'll certainly need to remove the door panel.
