Price Check: early Recaro race & rally seat

What are these period Recaro seats worth, please? Ballpark estimate is fine. I brought them with me from Germany back in the mid-1990s & have had them in my '68 911 for about 15 years.

Driver's seat: completely original, but in fair shape at best with splits in the side bolsters where the harness/seatbelt rubs + original cord fabric has completely faded and the seat bottom cord material has split. Also the slider has been cut so there are only 3 mounting holes for height adjustment, not 4. This seat came out of a privateer team GS-Tuning BMW 2002 race car I used to own.

Passenger seat: Reupholstered prior to my purchase in the 1990s, in good shape but vinyl material is less "stiff" than original & the corduroy material was installed so that the lines of the cord fabric run north-south rather than the normal east-west. And the headrest was covered in cord too. Slider rails were also cut down to 3 holes on this seat, same as above.

    What are they worth?

    Best,
    Andy

European real world prices (= price if put on ebay with starting bid 1€)
    ST seat ~1500-2000€
    other seat 1000-1500€
and I wouldn't sell for that.
But tell me more about that GS BMW - any pics left?

Down under or in US possibly - but the last seats like that were sold for about these sums on ebay.de - without the tear in corduroy the st would be 2000-2500
Example: This one is missing the headrest but it's a NOS or near NOS ST that was sold for 2900€
    https://www.ebay.de/itm/Recaro-Schal.../153897981215?

People are like 911s - they are getting wider. A ST seat is not comfy if your waist is beyond 30 or 31" - I've jumped through some loops -even fabricated a gear lever so I could fit the wider Rallye Bitter seats in my car - the effort was worth it it's now about perfect. Comfortable and supportive seating is one of my main issues with classics cars - from that my Recaro and Scheel addiction arose.

    Thank you! Good info.

Any thoughts from USA-based Registry members? I just don't see these race seats listed very often compared to the factory sports seats.

UAI, you asked about the GS-Tuning BMW 02. That car is now racing in Germany in historic events. Years ago, I wrote an article for BMWCCA's "Roundel" magazine re: Dipl. Ing. Dieter Basche and the GS-Tuning program but perhaps you can still find info about it on the bmw2002faq.com website:

A guy I know also had an Ex-Basche GS car with an interesting history (Ex Alpina works car, then it showed up at GS ran with Basche and others, then crashed, then the VIN was "transplanted" in a different car....)

I agree with Uli... have a good original ST seat, one minor tear in the upholstery and would be glad to get $2500. Sits on the shelf because it's too small for me. (or rather, I'm too fat for it...)
