Start with rear axles and the CV bolts

You probably have a transmission with the simplified differential. If the tips of the bolts holding the output flanges wear, then they can break and cause catastrophic destruction in the diff. You should check that out also. BUT, only remove one bolt at a time.

Had the car up in the air, with all external bolts retightened, a hopeful solution, but glonk remains when reloading the car with forward momentum, thinking the diff is cause.

Just lost all power to wheels, awaiting recovery, gearbox engages all gears, but nothing gets to the road. Will post the answers to this post once I know, bring on the speculation, let’s see how gets the diagnosis right.

Funny thing is I am now sitting in the least environmentally friendly iPhone charger, running a 1968 flat six to keep my phone charged ...

With no movement the Speedo would read 30mph in second gear

It means your pinion shaft is in motion, but there's a disconnect from the pinion gear to the rear wheels.
It sounds like a CV joint or differential issue.
