    Throttle linkage adjustment advice needed

    Hi All,
I'm trying to adjust the throttle linkage on my 1968 Sportomatic.

So far I've adjusted the clevis where the cable meets the transfer linkage on the left-hand side of the gearbox.

Now my throttle linkage has the right about of slack and the hand throttle works again.

My next problem is that when the throttle pedal is all the way down the throttle butterfly is not fully open.

To get slightly more throw do I adjust the 6 inch horizontal link in the engine bay or the vertical 4 inch links that go to each carb?

    Any advice is appreciated!

    Thanks, Richard

Its a bellcrank,,, they can only pull in a straight line,,,,adjust linkage so that when throttle rod pulls (can only pull in a straight line) that the other arm gets maximum travel. If that arm started from a 45 degree angle it would only get 50 % travel, but if it starts at horizontal (or close to it) then it gets 100 % of the travel from the straight line pull from the throttle rod. Experiment,,, you'll see what it does. Disconnect the throttle rod and experiment with travel,,,,you'll see. See when it starts the pull on the linkage to the engine bell crank.
