    Engine number check?

I have a non original engine in my 1968 1183xxxx chassis number 911. Engine number on the Kardex is 3380072.

Can anyone tell me the spec of this engine please as I can’t find the info online, though I am sure it is out there.

    Cheers

I notice that this is your first post. Welcome.
Your car is a 68 911 built for the USA.
The engine number identifies it as a 68 911 engine, 130HP, 2000 cc, 9.0:1 compression, Type # is 901/17 but I saved the best for last. It came with all the emission controls including a smog pump driven by a pulley attached to the left hand cam and your car was equipped with a Sportomatic, but you probably already knew that.

    Regards

    Jim

    Thanks Jim

Long time member, first post so thank you for the reply. The car now has a 5 speed box and the motor is unstamped so assume it has been replaced at some point. I also assume it to be a 2 litre from appearances. It was Bahama Yellow but is currently Canary yellow. I just did the deal yesterday having sold my 67 912.

    Cheers
