Help - How to fit rubber windscreen washer

    All,
This ought to be an easy job - buy new windscreen washer and push them through the hole in the bodywork!

However, it turns out this is not so easy - I've tried pushing and pulling and still can't get to locate properly with the groove in the washer gripping the bodywork.

Does anyone have a magic tip for fitting these?

    Thanks in advance, Richard

Richard spray the rubber area that goes through the body with a decent amount of aerosol silicone spray.

Pull from underneath and push firmly from the top at the same time with your hand and it should pop into the groove quite easily.

I soaped mine and then pulled it through while at the same time twisting back and forth with a pliers.
Another alternative is to pop the metal head, get the rubber seated and then put the head back in. I did one each way. I think the second way was easier.

Thanks all I'm reassured to hear that other people have found this a challenge!

In the end I placed them in a cup of boiling water for a few minutes which made the rubber much more supple. They then went in quite easily
