    brake system upgrade - done

back on track - updates completed

I thought I ll share, as I am
preparing to switch slowly, but steadily for the Polo engine. My 65 needed some
pre works to be able to compensate the increase of power.

A converted and completely reworked 914 gearbox with the nice ZD 5th gear is already waiting alongside other goodies.

By now the brake system had been changed towards a dual circuit with the usage of DOT 5.1 silicone brake fluid. A ATE Tandem Master cylinder with 19mm diameter is now mounted - part nr. 03.2119-2301.3 - and the brake fluid reservoir came up in the smuggler box.

The Porsche factory brake bias of 1,596 was kept

The front is now running with the 3“ strut usable alloy Brembos with 48mm cylinders. The rear has the reworked wide L caliper with 38mm, delivered by Eric at PMP, also bolt on, due to the nice bracket.

Front and rear now do have vented and directional drilled discs, which is a must according to the „Prüfbericht über Leistungsänderung“ , 18 10 05 4932/1, german TUEV.

In order to keep the steelies, 10mm spacers had been used for front and rear. Otherwise a swap to Fuchs or group4wheels would have been necessary.

Thank you @ Chris Pomares for delivering inspiration and help.

The rear sway bar was already installed last year accordingly to the appendix of the service bulletin Nr. F 4/67,
"Einbauanleitung zum nachträglichen Einbau eines hinteren Stabilisators" - "Installation instructions for retrofitting a rear stabilizer" - and this is is honestly an enormous improvememt in handling the car.....

    More things to come.....
