Original RS engine in search of it's donor car

A friend of mine has an original 2.7 RS engine that was sourced in the Netherlands many years ago. Would be interesting to find out whether the car it came from still exists. Is there a such thing as an international Carrera RS register?

The engines and matching VINs are listed online and in the RS book.

Well, there was the well regard book Carrera RS that lists all chassis numbers, etc. That might help start the search off.

VIN / engine combos listed here if you want to reverse lookup the VIN via Google search or attempt to use early S's search function:

If you really want to get good, accurate, and fairly quick info....post the ENGINE # here, as in the thread below:

Thanks, all. It appears the engine most likely is from a 1974 model. Not that sought after then, I suppose.

Definitely, and would still be very suitable in a 1973 Carrera RS. He actually knows someone who owns a '73 with no engine, but still won't sell. He will rather built himself an RS replica with that engine in it
