Car birthday, 50 yrs old this month

This car is 50 this month. Born in southern Germany.
Moved to California early that first year.
Was retired around 1985.... And sent to rest in San Fransisco.
Revived over the last 3 years, ....and spent some time at the ocean today.

    Hi Scott
I too have a fifty year anniversary 911S and would like to send you a gift for your stewardship of your special 911S. I would like to send you a couple of bottles of my Fifty Year Anniversary Vintage wine that I grew, vinted and bottled in my backyard/garage winery. If you could email me your shipping address I would be more than happy to do that.Name: fIXah%aDTi+b6w41xhu+mg.jpg

Awesome: both the car and the generosity of Ron...

Anyone bottle anything for 54 year old cars???

Ron, I would like to take some back roads and come up to your place.
    I'm near Santa Cruz.
I have to wait for some fire issues to clear up.

Sounds good to me. We have fire issues as well with the Walbridge fire. We are now safe and no evacuation for me. You could pick up the "anniversary" wine and we could go for a little drive around the area? Almost any day or time works for me. As a note I was living in Capitola in 1969 and that's when I bought my S from Wester Motors in Monterey. Its been licensed and driven every one of it's 50 years. It has never left me stranded yet!

Happy Birthday Scott's car! Mine will hit the big 50 in November, but it'll need a lot of rehab before it's able to move about under its own power.
btw, Nice photo. Looks like one of the turnoffs up near W Cliff/Swift? I miss the area.

    Ron,
I am waiting for hwy1 to open.
Probably try to drive up sometime this month.
I drove about 100 miles today. So, I think it can make it.

and, north of the golden gate bridge, what roads could i take to your house. that are not 101?
is there a good back road, where the roads are decent smooth?
looks like I can take 1 the whole way.

By the way. My dad bought a Porsche new in 69. In Long Beach.
He wanted to get a silver 911. But they told him he had to wait, six months. Then one day they called him and said they had a yellow 912. It's not what he wanted. But he bought it. And my brother has it today, in Pasadena.
    He drives it everyday.

It's the car that started it all for me and my 3 brothers.
    I was 5 yrs old.
I had another 69 car for 15 yrs. But I sold it. And it is now in Holland. Racing now and then.

It's not a 911 but had it since new- built in 9/70 and delivered on 11/11/70. Was on a MotorIoway rallye a few years ago when this pic was taken.

Will have to wait about 1 1/2 years to celebrate 50 years with the '72 targa...
