    LWB strut question or two

    Is the wedge pin in far enough? It doesn’t seem to go in further.
    Does it matter where the washer and strut rod
    is indexed?

    I have never seen a control arm like yours. Modified early arm with a custom ball joint? The pin should be flush with the housing normally. Does the ball joint have a pie shaped cutout for the pin or is it round?

    It appears to me it’s shaped for a wedge pin.
    These are sold by Rebel Racing, Elephant and maybe others.
    I think they are a fairly new product.
    The wedge pin can only go in in one position. In that position the dot on the pin is very close to the picture in the parts book at the top of the thread. This allows a LWB strut to fit on SWB suspension. They also offer one for SWB to SWB. Both have 30 mm slots to allow for camber adjustment.

    I took it out, realigned it and got about half of what is showing in the picture. It's still not flush.
    Does it matter what direction the slot in the shock shaft is pointed?

    2 cars, 1st car 73, stock A arms with RSR struts, one flush the other 1mm proud. 2nd car, ERP A arms and ball pins with 935 struts, one flush the other 2mm proud. Every thing is seated. G

    Thanks! I'll drive it in a few block area and recheck. Maybe that's just the way they are.
