    Option Group E03

    Greetings,

Came through a COA with : Option Group E03.
Did a search in here, found that G03 is AC, but this is E03 on a 2.4 T 1972.
Any idea ? (am sure you do)

Option listed on the COA :

    US Equipment
    Option Group E03
    Light Metal Wheels
    Koni shocks instead of Boge
    Stabilizers F/R
    Blaunkpunt Radio Frankfurt
    Confort Equipment
    Front Spoiler

    Cheers

Sorry, I have no concrete information on those options. I do suspect that they both contain AC.
However, these are group options which means that there are at least two individual options bundled together; otherwise they would be listed under the individual M option #. Secondly, the leading letter (E or G in this case) changes from year to year, and in some cases there may be two letters which suggests over 100 group options for that year. I am trying to gather as many CoA's as possible to build a database in order to compare listed options and thus try and figure out the contents of the group options.
My pseudo-CoA type reports try to be as explicit as possible about the contents of the Comfort group M470 option, Competition option M471 and every other Group option. However, it is really difficult to do since so little info on these group options is available. With everyone's assistance perhaps we can figure it out.
Regarding the country equipment, C02 is Equipment for USA except California, and C03 (and sometimes C13) is Equipment for California.
European CoA's are generally much more informative than American versions.

    Dave,

Thanks for the response. That car has S brake calipers, S external trims and S dashboard, factory AC too which are not described in the COA but are original to the car. That could be the E03 bundle parts...

Thanks Chuck, I read the thread and that bounce to Dave comments back. Looks like it is unclear and not yet clarified by the fantastic people here (including me)
So this has to be further investigated I believe...

Okay, the S calipers are probably part of the M402 Koni shock option. The S instruments and S trim would be part of the M470 Comfort group. The fact that you have unlisted Factory AC is a strong indication it was part of E03. Do you also have full tinted windows? We need at least 2 options to make a group.

The Gxx series of option groups are for 1973 model year, so not necessarily related to the Exx series of 1972 model year.

If I understand correctly your previous explanation, Gxx equipment group should be related to the 1974 MY only.
Such an equipment group for the 1973 MY would be Fxx.

The way I understand it, the structure is the Model-year letter followed by the number of the equipment group.
I'm quite sure that the content of these groups could be found into the order process description of the salesmen.

My guess is either A/C and tinted glass, or A/C and fender oil cooler.
