Spacer for Bilstein insert in Boge strut

Having installed Bilstein inserts into my Boge struts on our 66 SWB there is a “clonk” over small bumps/potholes. I read in various places (e.g. https://www.912bbs.org/forum/threads...inserts.42950/ ) that a spacer may be needed to stop this. Strange that its only on the passenger side, but I guess there could be a difference between the struts (this was a rally car).

Anyone know where to get one or what the dimensions would be to get one made up?

I see koni inserts listed on Stoddard come with a spacer...

i cut out a disc of 5mm aluminium with a hole saw. "carefully formed" (hammer and a block of wood) to match the shape of the bottom of the shock. It was enough to allow the strut tube nut to hold the insert tight. Im sure the "proper" way is to find/make a tube spacer to fit at the top of the strut tube.

Here is an original Bilstein insert for an SWB Boge strut. You would want to make the outside diameter a little smaller as this is a tight fit and once you get it in there it is nearly impossible to remove.

No. P36-0111 did not exist anymore. But we can deliver P36-0112 (new part no. 34-001127) which is similar to P36-0111 but only a little bit shorter. To fit the cars till ´68 you have to use a flat washer witch you have to put in the bottom of the tube in order to reach similar length to fit it in correct position. This tricky solution in known by all Porsche specialists
