Early Recaro seats — did they always have badges?

Need your input, please: Did all early Recaro race & rally seats from the 1960s & 1970s always have the “Recaro” badge mounted on the seat?

    Best,
    Andy

hello andy, to answer your question clearly: no.

By the way, the badge shown is the 2nd version ... installed from the middle of the 70s. Hope I could help you .

    regards

Thank you, Recarno. I have an early Recaro 1328 (no seat harness holes in the sides [thus pre-1973?] and the grommets on the rear & bottom of the seat’s shell.

This seat’s corduroy fabric looks to be original and I do not see any holes in the corduroy fabric where a Recaro badge was mounted.

    Andy

you should be able to look behind the back - check whether the foam is still original and whether there are holes in it for the badge. your letherette has probably already been exchanged, at least this piping never existed. I cannot conclusively judge whether the cord is still the first based on these pictures.

Thank you again, I will look. What years did these Recaro 1328 (“ST”) seats have the grommets in the back & bottom? I’m interested to know the approximate year this seat was made.

    Best,
    Andy

My understanding is that if the seats were after market they had the Recaro logo. If the seats were provided by Porsche they did not have the Recaro logo.
