    2.0L Build Suggestions

    Embarking on a 2.0S built and have a new set of 2.0S Mahle's. Would like to bump it up in output. Would you go to 2.2, get a longer crank, E or Solex Cams, higher compression ratio, twin plug,....?

    What are you going to use it for/what is your driving style/and does keeping it stock has any pluses for you ???

    The new Mahle S P's and C's are actually 906's , so you will be milling the piston tops or twin plugging . If you don't appreciate the 2.0 why not get a newer car instead of ruining a 2.0 ?

    I would go with high compression 2.0 pistons (10.5) but stick with the S cam and 40 Webers. Do some flow and porting work on the heads and you should end up with 180hp with a cammy but not "light switch" power delivery. You could go with a 906 flywheel. Will give you the essence of what makes a 2 litre special without the histrionics of a full house race engine. The 2 litre Cup engine builders in Europe have done a load of R&D on these engines in the last couple of years and lots of trick components are now available - pistons and valves in particular.

    Also have a stock 2.0S and a 2.2S MFI SWB. No 2.0 will be "ruined" so you will not be sleepless.

    Hey Richy.... I’ll be interested in getting your input further when we undertake my 2.0 rebuild that I believe you are helping me with.
