    Muffler lifespan

    Have a 1969 911T with the original muffler with no evidence of corrosion. Have 280,000 miles and been driving this since 1972. Could the inside of the muffler still be intact?

    It’s the short drives that ruin the mufflers, by not burning the moisture off.

    Thanks for the comments. In Oklahoma, so it is pretty dry. No clue if the noise has increased over the years. Will ask my mechanic next time I see him

    Ask your mechanic to use a boroscope to check the internal baffles.
