Unplug. Then plug. Then play. Rinse and repeat. Or at least play often.

Not a stupid question at all. Plus it dazzles your fiends when the see the needle at 100 and it keeps your math skills honed.

    Too funny Steve,
Main reason for the swap from MPH to KPH is that I'm sick of getting speeding tickets for doing 5kph over the 100kph limit. Here in NZ the Police are now ticketing you for being over the speed limit by a single KPH. The fines are minimal but its the loss of "merit points" that scares the hell out of me.
Three 5kph over the 100kph limit in 3 months so if I get another within the next 3 months I loose my licence for 30 days,,, CRUEL.
The last cop let me off after I told him to sit in the car with his hands on the steering wheel and told him to see if he could see the 60MPH on the speedo. (admittedly I do have a 350mm steering wheel and informed him that the REV Counter was in the middle because that the one that matters the most.
Not to mention the stupidity of having 30, 40, 50, 60, 70, 80 and 90KPH Zones in this country of mine, yeah way to hard doing the math conversions for me.
    All the best fella's

we have the same tight rules in Victoria (1 to 3 kph leeway)
I still have the MPH speedo and am not going to change it as even changed the accuracy is probably not good enough for our current rules. I use an app on the phone with a GPS speedo (and can do rally sections with maps, routes elapsed times etc etc but I just have the speedo on) It seems to be accurate and you get a numerical figure on the screen and can set limits at which it makes a noise and the figures are in red

the one I have is called "speedometer" but there are other ones as well
here is a screenshot of it from my phone

Hugh, thank you very much for that.
Like yourself I would prefer to not muck around with swapping bits n bobs on my car so I shall download the app and give it a whirl.

That is cruel,,,,,don't you have kinda wide open spaces down under??? Why so draconian,,,makes our highway cops here almost seem nice! Even on some of the urban freeways here in Ft Worth -Dallas traffic moves at 70 to 75 mph.

    Totally cruel Ed,

Plenty of wide open spaces with of plenty of Govt Revenue Hunting cops.

Time to purchase a new Escort or Uniden radar detector, I think.

    Here's the doozie.
Get caught doing 140kph or 86mph and you loose your licence on the spot for 30 days,,, now thats Draconian.
