    Price Check: Glaverbel Lightweight Windscreen

In need of guidance, please... what's the current price of an RS lightweight windscreen? A trick question I admit, because what I have is not an RS windscreen.

I recently sold my BMW CSL and left over in my spares is this item. It's a unicorn in BMW world (I can find nothing on it) and a few collectors are interested. I guess RS prices would be comparable but appreciate any insight. Thanks!

Not so sure that it would be a " unicorn " There are quite a few guys with CSL's on the E9 site I don't think that asking over there would be a bad thing, someone will know what it is worth and someone will probably want to buy it

    Thanks, Rick

I appreciate the thought Chuck, but Spartanburg is a driving school, they don't deal with this stuff and Tom Suddard doesn't either. I already know the parties interested in it.

The E9 site has a few, but those aren't my people, Rick. I've owned five E9s including 2275XXX and collected CSL bits for nearly three decades, so I'm very aware of truly rare parts for these cars.

Because Glaverbel made these screens for both BMW and Porsche I hoped someone would know what the RS versions go for. There are a few threads on this site discussing rarity, but not replacement value.

The currently available reproduction for RS's doesn't count, and isn't available for the CSL anyway. Part number:

However, the last one that I inspected was easily removed by a gravel truck getting on the freeway.....
My customer quickly found a replacement but is was 10k so he opted for a std windshield.
This was a couple of years ago.
It does belong on a "show" car.IMHO

IMO --- by this time (as in half-a-century-after) . . . bits like this belong in a museum . . . something to use as a standard to authenticate others

    Pretty crazy stuff, Russ

I've heard that BMW Classic department was really friendly. Might be worth shooting them an email, in Germany, and see if they have something to say about it, and maybe have an interest?

For the little story, I went to "le tour auto" here in France this year. BMW was a sponsor. And it seemed to me that one of the cars was from the Classic collection, with friendly german mechanics wearing "BMW classic" outfits.
