    356 door check ... when the car is parked nose pointing up hill. you open the door all the way open and this rubber holds the door from closing on you as you get out. it is one of those final adjustments you make after a restoration... adjusted to were you hear/feel a dull rubber thump as it passes...
    OOps ... or may be not.... there would be 2 studs' embedder horizontally in the wide end of the wedge to bolt it to the car...
