Thread: I need information from CoA specialists

I need information from CoA specialists

First of all: I only recently immersed myself in the 911 cosmos and am not yet familiar with the details.

    My 911 S Targa has had an "eventful" history ( https://www.early911sregistry.org/fo...arga-MY72-gold ).

These seats were included when I bought the car:

But which seats were included in the delivery condition at the time? Can you tell from the CoA?

If this is not possible, is there another option?

    Many thanks in advance.
    Golden greetings
    Andreas

    Andreas,
Sport seats were options in 72. Not seeing them listed in the options list of your COA is a pretty good indicator that the car was originally delivered with comfort seats. Your seats look completely correct down to original vinyl.

Those are completely original comfort seats with the proper black recliner hinges and grain and with just the string that holds down the seat pleat broken. But they aren’t perforated. CoA may not be accurate I have to say.

I agree 100%; CoAs can be pretty useless. The one that came with my car said that light ivory was the original color; After doing some research and speaking to some people, I was sent a corrected CoA that showed Light Yellow as the original, which I suspected, as no one had ever found a trace of light ivory.

Since I make up CoA type reports for clients, I can say this CoA is not really accurate. The interior code (6) is not valid since these are always two digit codes in the 1970's. It may be code 66 for a full leather interior in black. I always get engine serial's. The Dealer (US) is also not correct; it should be Distributor, and US = is supposed to be Seattle, WA. I know little about this "Distributor" since this is the first occasion I have seen it. Usually the Port of Entry was Beaverton, OR for Distributor P/A Northwest.
I suspect the seats may have been recovered.

I have 3 different COAs showing different data but the VIN ...for the same car of course.. One from the USA, one from the England, one from France. Tell about COA reliability.

DaveP and the fellows in here look to be the most accurate source.

Thanks to everyone for the assessments and information. It was already clear to me that the existing seats were not the original seats, as the history of the car determined so far.
Not sure what i will do:
    A) Leave the seats as they are.
    B) Request a current CoA or Classic Technical Certificate from Porsche (cost $ 500!).
    C) Have the seats made of perforated leather.
    D) Find and install seats that are appropriate for the period.
    We will see.
    Again thank you very much.
    Golden greetings

Not sure what you mean by D. The seats you have are 72-73 specific seats for the 911. They are absolutely correct for your car, even if they are not original to your car.
