I would assume that a '70E with a two stage rear defrost would use the same panel as a '70S with two stage defrost. So 16 should be the correct code.

Mine is a '70E with single stage rear defrost. Anyone know the "code" for that combination?

I found a pic on a 911 E build 07/70 with number 16 on the relay panel (It has a relay for the 2-stage rear window defroster) see #18 in this thread https://www.early911sregistry.org/fo...al-Cover/page2

I would need some good reference pictures on a rear electric panel with number 16. I will try to recreate the numbers on mine when I restore it. Anyone who can help?

I had asked this question a while back and included a pic of a relay panel with '16' on it. I think I pulled the pic from an ebay auction. See link below:

Post #3 on the below thread for a pretty original '73 car. Panel has an '03' stenciled on it and contains:
    - Single Stage Rear Defroster
    - Cold Start Relay
    - MFI Transducer

FYI - My car is a '70 E (ROW) and it has '05' stenciled on the relay panel.

    Iain,

Does your car have a singel or 2-stage rear defroster?

    Nick,
Always a start, but the pic on the 16 is taken from an angel.

We restored many of these panels but never found any logical explanation for the numbers on it.
