  1. #1

    Where to mount the antenna?

I finally got hold of an correct hirschmann antenna for my 71 911T (euro spec) LHD Targa.....

Now I have to work out exactly where to mount it!

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Derek

Manual or Auto? Makes a difference as to which fender side.

I have a template, if I can figure out how to relate the dimensions. Don't suppose you have access to car to create the dimensions from?

Left side then. Auto antennas are mounted on the right side.

911AUS: Hole for manual antenna on my 1969 Karmann Coupe is 2 7/8" to the rear of the gas filler door opening and on the highest point of the fender as viewed from the front. I took a scaled picture this AM for you, but unfortunately it refuses to upload in the jpg format although I have done this many times in the past using the same camera and jpg format, Give me your email address and I'll send you the photo.

My template shows 267 mm from rear most edge of fender, and 95 mm from fender edge at cowl strip.

265mm is same on Hirschmann instructions, but it have distance a) 95mm instead of 85mm (seems to be Bosch vs Hirschmann difference)

edit. I have same Hirschmann instructions like in this FS post:
