    Early knobs

Any info would be appreciated re the colors used in heater and fog and other switches/knobs. I see some are red, green, yellow. Some are short, some are long...

    Thanks,
    Derek

    Derek:

Is there a particular year you’re interested in? There were running changes throughout the early years.

    It’s for an early 71.

Euro spec, so hadn’t gone to the newer style rubber knobs found on US cars, still bakelite.

    Thanks

Sorry, Derek, I can’t help you but I’m sure there are plenty of people on this forum who have the information you require.

    Good luck,

Same bakelite knobs for 71 with light rods, they just have the rubber surrounds and symbols added over the top. If memory serves on the early cars:

    Green tip Fog
    Yellow Tip Defrost
    Red Tip Hazard

For 71 of course only the defrost and fog to worry about unless you had the optional Webasto Heat switch. The 70/71 defrost used the larger diam. funky golf tee shaped light rod IIRC. The Fog light still used the green tip slender rod.
