    Little 550 details

    It's the little things you don't usually see. Many, if not all 550's were not painted on the underside, so the ink stamps on the original aluminum can still be seen. Cool stuff!

    That is cool... but what's the story of those four holes on each side of the deck? Drilled for cooling or ? Do you know the history of the car that came from?

    I was told the tail came off of 0058, which was a privateer car. The best me and the 550 guys can guess is they had some crazy scoops on there to try and cool the motor. There are a million rivet holes that probably held the scoops. I plan to leave it as-is, history is history, even when it's ugly.
