    Help: Pepita description

German handwriting trained folks and others,

These are abstracts from "The Reutter Book" which recorded features of early 911s and we got to look at when we visited the archivist in Zuffenhausen a few years ago. It is, yes, an eye chart but can you help us fill in the blanks..we can read Pepita abbreviation and new (neu, we think)? The rest we can't make out at all. Clearly most are abbreviations which in German is virtually impossible for us. Vielen Dank !

    Hello Allen,
I will try to help you, it’s not the easiest to read, I will try to help you…

1.) Pepita rot or Pepita kurz? => Pepita red or Pepita short
2.) Peita neu rot => Pepita new red
3.) Pepita SW1/1 neu ??, Pepita Schwarz 1/1 neu => Would probably mean Pepita Black 1/1 new
    4.) Pepita Schwarz ?? => Pepita black

I agree w you on 4. being velour. I am sure that is not in relation to the pepita seating material but to the carpet set.

I also see “kB”. What can it mean in relation to pepita? Or could it be kl and then it would be pepita kunstleder?

On 4 I would then read Pepita Schwarz mit Kunstleder? The 1/1 beats me.

Given the letters people seem to recognize from the writing posted I would lean towards them writing in the internal color codes for materials ie
    K is fawn
    B black
    A red
    D grey
    G green

so if it looks like pepita KB I would suggest maybe that is short for fawn and black pepita

although certainly on kardexes they used Schwarz , Rot etc as well as B but I cant recall the color of the pepita being shown on kardexes IO have

    for late 356:
    A red
    B black
    C light brown
    D light gray
    E dark gray
    F blue
    G green
    H brown
    K fawn brown

    For 1964 911:
    A red
    B black
    C brown
    D grey
    F blue
    G green
    K is fawn
I believe that about 1966 the code D changed to beige from grey

As for Allen's questions, I think the kb is correctly kl for kunstleder since we are talking of interior.

The interior color section of the thread link below came up about the same time I posted this one.....too bad the info is now in two places. Anyway, thanks so much for all the input so far.

    i see
    Pep. 126.
    Pep. neu 126.
    Pep. 5651/1 neu 126.
    Pep. schwarz 126.
    vel. (or rel.)

However the dot after 126 is irritating so it might be an abbreviation for kb.or kle. or rb. - kle might be vinyl (kunstleder)
