    907 longtail and semi longtail history

    trying to puzzle the history of two cars together

    anyone knows the whereabouts of the 907longtail that won it`s class at le mans `67 #41 vin 907004
    was it converted to a semi longtail (and 8 cylinder) and raced at brands hatch the same year(#12)..or was this it`s sister car vin 907003(#40 at LM)? or a completely different car?
    and whats the vin of car #55 wrecked in daytona 68? and what happened to it? the green nose suggests it could have been 004.

    any help appreciated

    Chassis LH 907 004, 901 F6 1991 cc, Registration S-ZL 692
    11.6.1967, 24 h Le Mans, Start number 41, Jo Siffert (CH)/Hans Herrmann (D), 5th overall , 1st in class P2.0, for Porsche System Enginnering.
    The very same chassis did participate in the US races:
    4.2.1968, 24 h Daytona, Start number 55, Rico Steinemann (CH)/Dieter Spoerry (CH), for Squadra Tartaruga, DNF, hence the accident pics.

    In Daytona is this year following chassis did participate
    907 005, Start number 54, Typ 771 F8 2195 cc
    907 006, Start number 53, Typ 771 F8 2195 cc
    907 008, Start number 52, Typ 771 F8 2195 cc
    907 011, Start number 51, Typ 771 F8 2195 cc

    907 004 is listed for the
    23.3.1968, 12 h Sebring, Start number 58, Rico Steinemann (CH)/Dieter Spoerry (CH), for Squadra Tartaruga, DNA
    but if you look at the entries the driver team is listed with 910 027…despite 907 004 is in the list as “did not arrive”

    In the 6 H Brands Hatch, the 30.7.1967, chassis 907 007, Start number 12, equipped with a Typ 771 F8 2195 cc, Hans Herrmann (D)/Jochen Neerpasch (D), finished 4th overall.

    907 003, 901 F6 1991 cc, registration S-ZL 691, is only listed for the 67 Le Mans race,
    Start number 40, Rindt / Mitter, DNF due to camshaft problems with 103 laps finished

    63 650 gray silver bikinitub triumph thunderbird
    70 650 astralred silver triumph bonneville
    65 912 slate gray "erwin"

    excellent (but i`m not convinced it is 100% accurate)

    Porsche 907-007 was also used in Sicily by Porsche for testing before the 1968 Targa Florio along with 911R prototype R2, S-YZ 29. The pictures below
    have been shared before in the Ultimate R thread, but without the inset photo of Neepasch sitting in a RHD 911. It appears that the original source was a magazine "AS". Is that an Italian motorsport magazine?
