Price check - Recaro tilting base ...

    .

... for swb model with Recaro sport seat or swb/lwb models with Recaro fixed bucket seat.

This is an original Recaro part - complete with original labels - but at some time in the past it has had the release handle cut off & re-welded to the other side (to convert the base from a rh version to a left hand).

The knob on the release handle has also been swapped for a plain one (ie no Recaro logo).

The set-up as it is currently would work as a driver's seat in a LHD 911/912.

Bearing in mind that accurate repros are available in Germany for ~ 350 euro, any opininions as to what this one might be worth ?

It would be relatively easy to convert back to its original configuration.

    Any opinions ?

Alternatively anyone sold an original unmodified Recaro swb tilting base recently ?

your base is a very late exemplar of recaro. around the end of the 70s, possibly even the 80s. Nevertheless, an original Recaro part, which in my opinion always has to be more expensive than a replica. I cannot say what the exact price structure is for this part in the usa. the conversion of the lever is definitely a shame and of course also reduces the value. Passenger bases are also rarer. regards
