    1971 911 T COUPE PROJECT
    $23,000

1971 911T 9111121124 – Presently painted yellow, original color was very rare 7373 – Crystal Blue; with an inoperative 911E engine, #6210826 which is non-matching; original black vinyl interior; 5 speed transmission #7111655, and the correct original mileage is unknown. The car has been in dry, Colorado garage storage for the past 39 years. Purchased in 1981 by the current owner, however he is physically unable to recall any details about the car. The car was converted for Porsche Club racing events shortly after the purchase. A roll bar was added as well as emergency fuel shut off, full race drivers’ seat and Simpson full harness. Various, non essential interior items were removed. A special steering wheel, driver’s side window net, and a front and rear Weltmeister sway bar system were installed. An oil cooler system was installed using factory oil lines and front cooler. Most of the modifications were professionally installed and the all of the parts removed are available.

It appears that there is NO significant structural or body rust present in the: front compartment, (gas tank support); front and rear floor pans, (somewhat lumpy), as well as the most common rust areas, i.e. the bottom corners of the lock posts; the front or rear latch panels; the underside of both doors and the rocker panels. The only rust hole found is a pencil size hole at the top of the passenger side lock post.

Mechanical – The engine was rendered inoperative at the last driver’s education event about 25 years ago. A recent inspection of the engine disclosed that there were no metal particles present in the oil filter. A battery was installed and the engine was turned over with no unusual noises and the conclusion was that the problem with the engine was more than likely a bent valve(s). The electrical systems were tested and all lights operated properly. The wheels are the ‘stove burner’ type and race tires are installed. The brake calipers are ‘S’ alloy type, turbo tie rod ends were installed and front and rear Koni struts were installed. The carburetors are Weber 40 IDA type.

Exterior – The recent inspection also disclosed that the entire rear section on the car was replaced. The workmanship was good to very good, however the new panels were installed using the ‘overlap joint’ method. ‘S’ type rocker and bumper trim are installed and in good condition. The windshield is pitted, however the side and rear glass is very good.

Interior – The car is equipped with leather Recaro seats and these are in good condition. The original door panels and pockets, rear seating area and headliner appear to be very good condition, all gauges and dash switches are present.

Front Compartment – The ventilation system was removed, however it is available. Only very limited modifications were made to the compartment, the original wiring, relays, etc. were basically undisturbed.

Miscellaneous – The title and COA are available as shown in the photo album. Best to use email, tomlynns@aol.com, with questions. Thanks.
