    Fubawu,

Thanks for the contributions. The cars 11800234 and 11825414 were included in the list on page 1. Neither were ordered from the factory with the Rally Kit or SportKit I or II as far as we know. 11800234 was modified with 911R parts and raced at least once in the period. 11825414 is thought to have been modified at the factory and has a race history.

The Certificate for 11800069 doesn't show it having been ordered with the Rally Kit or SportKit I or II. Do you know if it has a early race history? Do you happen to have a Kardex for the car?

The Kardex can often provide additional details on factory performance modifications, notes 8)-11) below, or race options not on the standard options list, notes 12)-16) below. These notes are taken from the summary table at the end of post 1 that I update as new information is provided. These details aren't typically included in the Porsche certificates or COAs.

Kardex information has been obtained for only 17 of the 45 cars on the list currently, so much is still not known about how these cars were outfitted at the factory or were modified by the factory after they were delivered.

Eric, I have a 1969 S - not quite part of this topic I know, but it has an M-Liste number on the cardex Nr 370. A car with a similar chassis number has M-Liste number 369 so I suspect the M-Liste number is an order number rather than a option number if that makes sense. Just a theory. I don't recall seeing two M-Liste numbers the same. Matthew

    Matthew,

Articles on a couple of the cars with Sonderwunsch noted on their Kardex, 11810429 and 11810486, mention that the customers received a list of special options in the fall of 1967. The orders were then placed in the fall and the cars were delivered in the spring of 1968. I think that you are correct that the M-Liste number is an order number that lists specific special options selected for these cars.

Could the M-Liste number be a cross reference from the Warranty record (Kardex) to an order placed at the Race Department?

    Hi Eric

    I don't have anything on 11800069 , I just know it raced
In the Klubsport series. I have a 67s (stock S) that raced in that series as well. It's been a race car since new. The reason I included it was the 100 ltr tank. I'd like to see the Kardex for the 68S but the car was sold 7-8 years ago.

That makes sense to me. I don't have any first hand knowledge about the matter, but there is an interesting article about Rolf Sprengler and his role at Porsche.

"The Werkstatt also encompassed customer racing service. Sprenger continues: 'In the days of Edgar Barth it was based at Kornthal – young Jürgen even worked there until Huschke von Hanstein took him under his wing in the press department. In 1969, the racing service was merged with the Reparaturwerkstatt, so as well as fitting tuning kits to 911Ss, we built client competition cars too.'”
