FS: 380mm OEM VDM Thick Grip “RS” Steering Wheel

This is a 380mm flat hub OEM VDM steering wheel for 911 or 914/6 (PN 914.347.805.10 with 9/70 date code) that was refinished in the more desirable thicker 3 5/8” thick grip similar to the RSR wheel. The original paint is almost perfect. The perfect leather is done with the correct cross stitching on wheel and baseball stitch on short spoke pieces. It is just a beautiful piece.

I purchased this from Allen Henderson in a private deal in late 2017 but never used it as I pursued concours originality to show the car. It’s been in the original padded shipping box since. I have attached Allen’s original photo to me (3rd photo down) and 7 more that I took recently.

Allen shared at that time this was the nicest wheel he had ever had with near perfect original paint.

Selling for what I paid 3 years ago. $1150 includes insured shipping in US. International extra. Check or if using Paypal please include all fees.

Hope it gets a great ride!

Real nice wheel and should sell quick. I’ve never seen a 911/914 wheel with such glossy paint before. I guess it’s from never seeming the sunlight, but as you said it’s been in a padded box for some time.

Spokes are too shiny to be original paint in my opinion. Nice wheel though GLWS!

Nice wheel ! Yes, this IS original paint. I polished it with McGuire's Mirror Glaze #7 and Griott's wax. I touched up a couple chips on the hub with a black sharpie! Here is what it looked like before I worked on it and sent it out for leather. If you look at the close up near the horn contact, you'll see it clearly the same wheel--at first I wasn't sure myself. Thanks.

Too bad you should have left the spokes alone, in the above picture they look perfect. Just like the wheel you just sold.

Ya the original paint on the spokes never looked that glossy. Easy to fix.

Some 0000 steel wool and those spokes would look perfect!

Allen I like the glossy effect , I doubt there's a need for any overt changes those spokes are sure to dull appreciably once installed ...Bert
