Thread: "R" Steering Wheel Info Needed

    Here are a few more of one wheel. All three cars we did had this Monza wheel, I guess we assumed they were originals.

    Yeah, I also found a period picture in the same series as the R photographs at the track that Tilton blew up for posters. When you zoom in you can see the thumb pads on the wheel. I didn't know they had two different Monza wheels in the same time period... Cool stuff.

    Similar wheel on the 906 as well????

    The momo monza wheels that were original to the 911R never existed without thumb pads. The monza wheels without thumb pads always had round holes in the spokes, while the 'R' wheels had the slotted design as seen above. I've seen the R monza wheels in an exact same configuration but with the prototipo model name etched. Not sure where these were ever made for but the 911R's had monza's indeed.
