Thread: Anyone race slot cars?

    Anyone race slot cars?

My grandfather used to go out weekly to a slot car crave track club, and I would tag along sometimes. There was a great track, lots of enthusiasm and attendance, and everyone would tweak and race their cars and have a great time. I wish those clubs or commercial venues existed still, or do they?

I have seen photos of some cool tracks.

Does anyone do this anymore? I’m always tempted to construct one, nit that I have the space.

    slot cars

I bought a Carrera set and added a lot of track......it`s easy to setup/breakdown and change......they are the kings of home slots, they`ve been making this stuff for 60 years........the detail of the cars is amazing!

Haven't set it up in ages, really need to mount it on a base... another item for the man-cave that hasn't been done yet!. Carrera stuff is the standard, great detail.

I routed a slot car track out of MDF. I use it every winter for the past few years. Just starting on scenery. They make a bunch of early 911s in 1/32 scale. One company actually has the motor in the rear. They are a ball and my favorite cars.94A87524-C154-4BF0-8080-9D425FF21257.jpeg4D60E0F5-DD8D-4151-8369-E4F5D03695CA.jpeg6AE55F2C-E614-44A1-B3CF-E1F03D5C2C0A.jpeg92F263B5-89BD-4029-BE36-3B0CAE04ECEA.jpeg11F1091B-12EF-4570-A21B-53F2BC457DD1.jpeg

Wow, Rich... a rare thing when one can use an overused word appropriately: that is AWESOME.

Just a simple edge guide for the router? Love the intersecting lanes with variable lines through the esses!

I have a classic Revell set up that I had in the barn till a new full size car project arrived. One day I will set up again, lots of old time school Cox and home made cars. Lots of fun. Use the 12 volt transformer to test electrical circuits. Rich, love the symbols on the side of the Essex, build, race, party.

I found this one at a local flea market, Max and me played it again and again!
