    W: Albert Blue 911

    Hello all!

    I have been looking for more than a year for an Albert Blue 911 coupe, preferably a T (because of cost). I was hoping for an honest driver, maybe older restoration with NO rust.

    I sold my 1964 356C a few years ago and have always lusted after that color on an early 911.

    Please DM me if you have or know someone who has a car like this!

    There's an Albert Blue '72 911E for sale at Legendary Motorcar Company in excellent condition.....it's not cheap at $98K.

    I don't think $98k is crazy for that color combo. I have the same Albert Blue over red in my 72T and I both paid more than that and have been offered more. That color combination is VERY hard to find.

    I spoke with those folks last week and there were a LOT of questions after the discussion. It doesn’t have the original motor and that is not the original interior color. There is very little paperwork (though they are trying to get more from the consignment owner). No real history on the life that it lived which is too bad since it came optioned with specs for the Middle East in COA.

    While the price is up there, if it were more original maybe it would warrant it. What I found interesting is that Legendary cars policy is that you buy the car THEN they go through it to see what, if anything, is wrong. If it affects drivability then it has to be negotiated with the current owner after the fact. The salesman did say that it looked a little wet under the car but couldn’t tell me any more than that. He also couldn’t tell me what the mileage was as he had no paperwork verifying if it is over 100k.

    I thought it was a little unsettling and this certainly is a car with a lot of questions around it.

    I am hoping more for a driver with a bit of history so I know what service has been done over the last 10 years or so.

    That's terrible. Not even close to how they describe the car on their website.

    Paperwork notwithstanding, and regardless of Legendary's write-up + reputation + 'sales speak' . . .

    . . . Legendary is the Consignor's agent --- that's who they're working for . . . for a %

    If I were serious about this (or any) car --- then I would request a PPI . . . my vendor + my cost = minimal shenanigans

    Concerning the 72E on consignment at Legendary Motorcars: I also called Legendary about this car a few weeks ago. The salesman told me that it was restored by European Collectables several years ago. He mentioned that it was not a perfect car but should be considered a "driver". I inquired about the lack of A/C and associated vents under the dash as this was indicated on the COA. He, unfortunately, didn't have any information about why this feature was omitted or when. He also mentioned that it had a 915 transmission as would be correct for a '72 although I wasn't sure based on the pictures as it appeared more like the 901's found in earlier model years based on the size of the boot. I'm not an expert but aren't 915's shift cases raised off the floor several inches and subsequently have a much larger shift boot? The car does come with the original steering wheel although I didn't ask for a picture to ascertain it's condition.

    For the price this might be a great car but as others have stated, there are some real question marks here and a PPI is a must. I live too far away to stick handle this one and dropped out as far as consideration is concerned.

    That shift boot is correct for a 1972 915; 1973 had a larger boot.

    Hey there Everyone! If you don't mind keeping your eyes open for that Albert Blue 911T I would really appreciate it. Anyone have one in their collection and looking to pare down?

    I am still looking for you as I continue to hold on to my 72.
