    Another cool one-year-only feature on the '72 part of the reason i did not change my shifter on my '72 hotrod - even left it 'exposed'!

    When i restored/rebuilt my shifter assembly, i do remember getting those springs back in was a huge pain.

    Tom, thank you for your input. I can understand the differences between them.

    Bill, yes, it was very hard to put them back in without the special tool on the factory manual.
