Sounds like you have the makings for a fun build...are you considering upgrading transmission, suspension, and brakes?

Already has late G model brakes in the front. Thinking to make a high compression 3.2 with some S-mod cams and Webers 46

G model had both the 915 and G-50 trans (beginning in 1987 or 1988)...if your 3.2 has the later G-50 you'll need mods (or possible entire replacement?) to the torsion rod tube....or sell the G-50 and source a 915 trans.

First off in my opinion there is likely such a thing as too much power in a swb car. ...I'm building one now with a 2.8 twin plug race motor that has been de tuned with smaller port heads and milder cams. I am concerned that it will be too much for the car. ...never really said I wish I had less power in a car so maybe I am wrong.

Secondly if you utilize the 915 box you need to "relieve" the rear seat pans for clearance and then source some 914 output shafts to use on the 915 box (hopefully you have one that the splines line up with) If you use the 914 output shafts they should connect with your axles.

The engine comes with the 915 gearbox. I also have a late 901 (911) gearbox from a 1970 car. Maybe I can use this gearbox as well?
