The open end wrenches in the LWB tool kit looked like SSS wrenches to me. If they are Selected Special Steel wrenches they are not correct for the tool kit. GLWS.
Yes, they are SSS. It was my understanding that the kits had SSS wrenches towards the end of '73. Please correct me if i am wrong.
I'll take the 8/9 DFS wrench if it's still available.

That is correct, SSS wrenches came out around mid 1973, you could see a 1973.5 tool kit with an SSS wrench set. The tool kit you are offering is for late 1969 through early 1973 models. I have seen tools mixed from one year tool kit to another when delivered, but never seen an unaltered LWB tool kit with SSS wrenches.Originally Posted by METAVINYL

That is correct, you could have a mix of SSS and DFS wrenches for tool kits starting 1973.5. I have seen the mix of DFS and SSS up to late 70's tool kits, not all tool kits would have them though. Those 1973.5+ DFS wrenches do not have milled ends like the SWB/LWB wrenches.
understood, Cem... that would be conventional wisdom. my car came from the second owner who never drove the car much (nice 100K example) the only thing missing from the, otherwise complete, tool kit was the screwdriver. where would "0782" fit in the '73 MY production ?
