    ‘69S Ignition Trim Q

    Happy New Year Members!

Somehow the chrome ring around the key tumbler went missing. Any idea how or where to find this chrome trim piece?

Been trying to figure out the same thing, though the 69 year seems to have 2 different ignition setups. I see these 2 diagrams and neither shows any chrome around the inside of the plastic bezel.

Mine is the second, non-locking type, 69T:

I have searched a lot of photos and have not found one showing anything between the plastic and the inner tumbler. I'll be damned if this is how it shipped (looks unfinished). Someone must know....

I think I just figured it out. The second bezel is a different part number with a 21mm thread but 19mm inner hole to cover the gap. Not cheap:

Here's an original from a December, 1968, build car. There is no additional chrome trim around the tumbler assembly. Note the differences in the basket weave textures between the several posted photographs.

yes, i have an aftermarket basketweave. But that trim ring does look like mine, with the ugly gap to the key bolt threads....hmmm
