    Engine Decal - Reapply?

Nearing the end of the restoration of my 1970 911e, Has anyone had success reapplying the original metallic engine decals? If so what precess did you use?

..or am I wasting my time because there is there an authentic replacement thats metallic vs a vinyl sticker?

I’d certainly go with the originals. There always seems to be minor or not-so-minor differences with the reproductions.
    Yours look nice.

I agree, use the originals if you can figure out how to attach them. I had to replace mine, was able to find metallic replacements but none are 100% correct. In most cases, the fonts, spacing (kerning) and metallic finish are slightly off.

But as to the best method of applying them? I'm not sure. Possibly some sort of double-sided tape? Would need to be really sticky...

I reapplied my originals with an adhesive that I bought on Amazon and they've held for several years now. I'll post the brand and a link tomorrow from my shop.

Removed the original engine decals of one of my cars three years ago and now they are too weavy to mount them.

How to solve this? Ironing and high pressure?

Dirk, maybe using a heat gun may help with removing the waviness

3M 468MP is what the new stickers from Porsche used to come with. You can find it on line. It's wide enough for the original stickers. I've used it a few time with perfect results. Here's what my roll of it looks like. It's 2" wide.

If they're really bad, you might not be able to reuse them. I got mine flat enough with an old wrist pin (Mercedes, so it was nice and fat) and a granite surface plate.
