Replace rear trailing arm bushings w/o removing transmission?

Seems crazy to remove the engine just to change a bushing. I see Wevo makes a special bolt for pre-72 cars, but can I get the bolt out without dropping the engine?

Funny, I went through this a couple of months ago with a 71’. My project was to replace all the bushings on the car and these were the last two. Left side was not too bad, just lowered trans, right side was no fun, required dropping and moving engine trans at an angle, just thought it was silly to remove the engine to gain access to these two bolts. Worse part was these were by far the most preserved bushings on the car.
Did finally get the bolt out but in retrospect should have just taken the engine out. So yes can be done.

I'm planning on installing those, but can I get the stock bolt out without dropping the trans/engine?

You're going to cut the bolt after getting it part way out.

I've done mine on my 1966 swb recently. You can leave the engine and trans in the car and get the bolts out. Make sure you break the nut loose first, then with the back of the car in the air, put the jack under the trans, undo the front cross member and just lower it a little. There will be enough room to get the bolts out.
