No speaker holes, some kind of funky stitching, Napa leather? Don't think this will pass as "concours."

Jim
Too many Porsches and one VW are starting to fill up my desert landscape.

doesn't concourse mean extra salsa or something like that
my dash is also not equipped with speaker holes.
Perhaps this is also the case with others. My Kardex also doesn't list antenna and radio.
Your dash has likely been recovered.. even if no radio was listed, my understanding is the dash was perforated and the radio was an option installed either in factory or at dealerships
I am actually very sure that my dashboard has not been reupholstered. When disassembled, everything still looked very original. Even a "wooden" cover under the dashboard where the speaker should normally be was still in place.
I quickly started looking because I am not completely convinced. Could it be that for model 1965/66 there are not always speaker holes present. Mostly 3 gauges dashboards. Seems strong that the videos all have a dashboard that is not correct.

Well my early 65 - 3 gauges car came with what looked like an original dash, no perforated upholstery, but when I took it out, clearly it had been reupholstered at some point and I had a defunct speaker underneath.. just sayin'
Also, I would not take any of the youtube videos from BHCC or people trying to sell their cars as evidence that there is not perforation from the factory..
Not trying to convince you but the factory manual for the early 912 picture shows perforated dash (Manual X-65 so October 65, I would guess the picture would have been taken at least 2 months prior to prepare the owner's manual)
I have a 13K mile 67 radio delete car with the speaker perforations. Zero question as to originality of the dash so there's at least one example of a "no radio from the factory" and speaker holes.
Your new interior pieces look great.
Leather looks good. Did you do it yourself?
