What’s a good material to restore flappers

    Guys
The flappers inside the heat/vent control unit appear to have a rubber material glued to the metal components .
They are now toast and need a good material to restore the tight fit When closed
What are the options people have used ?
    Cut from a tire tube?

They are decent quality and fit good: https://914rubber.com/flapper-valve-...ower-housing-1

$4 is of course silly but still too cheap to bother taking a trip to the store to make your own.
