7.4 is a real deal earthquake .... tsunamis take very specific movement to create a big wave. A lot of under water quakes don't do much wave wise.... Heads up for more quakes to come..

I keep a registry of 1972 and 1973 2.4 S coupé chassis. Infos always welcome!!!
They have upped the last to an 8.2Mag.
These last 2 quakes have happened 600 miles North East of NZ (in the Pacific Ocean) hence the Tsunami risk.
Whilst there has been no reported damage from the "shake' it (as we all remember ) the tidal movement that is of most concern.
There is news of panic on the roads up north in Whangarei as people have been "ORDERED" to move inland to higher ground.
My city, Auckland is also in a Level 3 Lockdown and the rest of the country is in Level 2 which is also causing confusion as people are supposed to be 'isolating'.
I shall keep you all posted.

5.3 Mag but this time only 70 miles off the East Coast, North Island.
Initial info is saying the tidal movement to arrive about now.
Expecting a tidal wave height of 3- 5 ft along certain parts of the coast.
We have a lot of very shallow coastline areas so lets see what happens.
The NZ Civil Defence is an amazing Govt Organisation that have 'practise runs' with our population for this scenario so as a country we are pretty well practised at this.

Earthquakes are weird! Friends in Rotorua watched their light pendants “dancing”, but couldn’t feel any movement. Here on the North Shore, Auckland - we didn’t feel a thing! Moving to higher ground is advised, but preliminary estimates of wave height are 0.3 - 1.0m. Only little at the moment!!! News at 11.30 am!

A 3-5 Tsunami wave can kick ass for boats in marinas
If you have a good GPS, may be a google map .... Get 30 feet above see level ... at least
The 8.2 might be the final earth "Adjustment' ... But do not bet on that
