    1972 fender attachment

I am putting together a 1972 and trying to figure out the brackets that attach to the battery boxes and support the fender. My 1970 has "U" shaped brackets that attach to the light bucket, battery box and then the front bumper. In the boxes of part I received for the 1972 there are only "L" shaped brackets that appear to mount on the battery box and support the bumper. Was there a change to not attaching to the light bucket? Also the horns on my 70 attach to a bracket on the battery box but I don't know how the 72 horns attach, not sure I even have horns to see what they have. Any help would be appreciated.

The 72 also used the same system as the 70. There should be the same hole in the bucket to accommodate this.

My 73 uses the U shape, my former race car, now Outlaw has the L shape. Found it not necessary to attach headlight bucket, and if the U bracket was used, looked like it would be a real alignment fight. It was just easier to use L bracket. It’s your car, do the extra work and try the U bracket.

It seems I have one of each for this car. I really need the U shape to hold one headlight bucket down so the turn signal is level. The other side is fine with the L bracket for some reason.

Would anyone have some pictures for fender and horn attachment for a 70? I bought a stalled project that was dissembled and not sure if I have everything and how things go back together. Would like to do it right the first time....Thanks
