Thread: Correct retaining clips for luggage compartment light wiring?

    The hinges were bolted to the inner fender panels before paint, so therefore the bolts are painted. When you take off an original hinge you'll see there is no paint on the backside.

    If you order the trunk lighting (or license plate lighting harness) from us, the mounting clips are included.

    OK, my misunderstanding. I was thinking, given the related photo, that the advice was to paint the bolts holding the hinges to the hood in body color. I can't see the bolts that hold the hinge to the body, and therefore can't see that they were not painted body color. Ed is of course right: the bolts holding the hinges to the body should be body color. I am right too in that the bolts holding the hood to the hinges should not be painted.

    Just to close out the thread. The harness from Kroon arrived and was perfect, fishing through the hood was a bit fiddly but worked, tied into the interior light (same fuse) for 12V and done!
