Thread: W: Irish Green or Silver Metallic Targa

  1. #11
Indeed, I researched a couple years worth of long hood Targas from BaT to analyze pricing and nearly all of them have at least a BUT or two. I suppose it’s the reality of ~50 year old cars that weren’t always as valuable as they are today (and were treated accordingly), so I guess you just have to decide what you can and can’t live with. Best of luck with the Albert Blue search - will post on your thread if I come across anything.

Considering bidding on the Silver Metallic ‘71 911T Targa linked below (assuming I can get my head around the import process / cost). Would value any input from the group if there’s anything that jumps out from the restoration or otherwise. If you have an RM account you can view the files, and the pre-restoration photos show Fuchs and the PPS says “Light Metal Wheels 5.5J x 14” which from my searching seems to be a reference To Fuchs (which I much prefer), so that was one of the main things that caught my eye. Any thoughts on the car, good or bad, would be welcome!

Car looks honest and price sounds reasonable.
    If so won't last long.

    About This Car

I have owned this car since 1995, and have kept all receipts. 150,000 miles. Engine rebuilt 70K ago , and transmission also rebuilt then. New Clutch 5K ago. Very little rust, good brakes, and all parts interior and exterior are in place. Very original. Paint a good looker at 10 feet, but there are flaws, and that is holding this car back from being a 2. Clean, well cared for, never driven in salt while in my possession, solid and straight body. Becker Europa radio.

Thanks Peter, I exchanged a few messages with the seller and it does seem like an honest car, but unfortunately it’s a repaint - the factory color is actually Conda Green. Appreciate you relaying.
