    1970 911S chassis / engine numbers

Is it possible with 911S cars that two cars could have chassis numbers 3 digits apart but engine numbers 58 digits apart?

Yes, many more engines were built so what you are stating is very possible.

Yes, engines were picked at random from a large group available on the floor at any given time. That group was also in constant change, so big variations are common. One of my 914's has what would be an Oct engine but was completed in February; 4 months out of sequence. But the particular group of cars it is in, the 1974 Limited Edition, is very well studied, and engine sequence is very chaotic.

Very typical. Just look at the ESR Registry list. The car two digits before mine (also a 69S) has an engine that is 47 digits apart. The car 8 digits ahead of mine (also a "S") has a engine 70 digits ahead of mine.

    usaspeedster,

When you registered for this board you were prompted to become a paid member of the club that brings you this board... With your membership you get 4 issues of our club's news magazine ESSES, and membership card, a club decal, and a PDF of the club's 'Car Listing' / Roster' which has all the cars of our present and past membership (with all the info a member is willing to give) complied for the last 30 years...

    Hope this helps,

I have been a member for awhile, and get the magazine, but never got any of the other things you mentioned. Any suggestions who to ask for them?
